The cost Zimbabwe pays as it becomes more modernized is reflected in the loss of its ancient traditional ways. The lyrics implore the people of Zimbabwe to hold firmly to their heritage and the things that have been passed down to them from their ancestors.
As a native of one of the most modernized industrial countries of the world, I warn the people of what can happen when wisdom and traditions that create a harmonious way of living are sacrificed for money and technology. "Be proud, Zimbabwe, be proud of what you have!"
