Charlie Moonbeam This record of dubbed-drenched jams perfectly embodies the wild volcanic mana of the Big Island of Hawai'i.

Chris Berry, Tubby Love, Paul Izak and more come together in a blessed communion of some of the islands' most heart-centered musicians. Favorite track: Pele.

about

This album came together as Hawaii’s Puna region and the town of Pāhoa were under threat from the Big Island's most active volcano, Pele. Just like the volcano, this album has boldness and intensity mixed with a relaxed island vibe, similar to lava slowly making its way from the Kilauea Crater to the sea.

Tubby Love, Will Lydgate, Paul Izak, Ben Teters and I dedicated ourselves to creating a more classic Reggae sound; we kept synthesizers, drum machines and newer electronic sounds out of the recording. At the same time we aimed for a big bass sound and groove that DJs would play at clubs without sounding “small” next to the sonic boom of electronic music.

The final product is an all natural, phat groove that moves the body while expanding the mind with conscious lyrics. This album represents a unique blend of African Mbira vibes with an old school Reggae sound.
